Creating games and writing tools to help me create even more games are the two things I enjoy doing most, except maybe playing them. With over 6 years of development experience, 2 of which at Breda University of Applied Sciences, I am excited to put my skills to use in the industry.
My name is Sjoerd Vermeulen, and I am a Dutch game programming student at Breda University of Applied Sciences. Before I started my studies at Breda University, I had already done a lot of small hobby projects on any device I could get my hands on. I cannot decide what I liked more: creating little games or writing tools to help me create even more games. I especially enjoyed researching and recreating elements and techniques I saw in other games, as well as developing programming languages tailored to whatever purpose I imagined.
During my studies at Breda University, I have greatly improved my skills in game programming and development in general. I am very comfortable with C++ (and many other prominent languages) and have worked on- and in custom engines as well as Unreal Engine. I also have a strong foundation in production and some experience in leading a team of programmers in a long-term game project.
